WebForm taps are the way to go. I make bus bars with 6-32 threaded holes. We used to get about 300-500 holes on a good tap we switched to form taps and got 2000+. Another good upgrade to our process was carbide drills. Trick is push it hard enough to actually get a good chip out. If your getting birds nest on the drill push harder.

I don't know how many parts you're finishing but a tapmatic tapping head for a drill press will save a lot of time and energy. Other than that you have my sympathies.
