Web14 de fev. de 2006 · My '96 is a reg. cab long box, and I've put as much as 24.2 gal. in the big front tank, & 20.2 gal. in the little rear tank.... both the original factory tank and the OEM replacement tank I installed about 3 yrs ago when the old one rusted out. So if you were able to put 26 gallons in, that rules out the 23 and 26 becauae you know you still have some fuel to get 40 more miles. RAM has to allow for a reserve with the Distance to Empty.
